After the demise of the Prophet ﷺ, Muslim scholars saw the increase of excessive love for this world become widespread amongst the Muslims. As is the solution with all of our problems, they thought deeply on what the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ had to say, and began to collect all the Hadiths related to Zuhd to ease the study of this topic. Loosely translated as 'abstinence', Zuhd is one of the most impactful qualities that the Prophet ﷺ and his companions (r) possessed that allowed them to live through this world, but never get so attached that they would lose sight of the afterlife. ​ Join Shaykh Navaid Aziz this Ramadan as he teaches us the Hadiths on Zuhd from the famous collection of al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalāni, titled Bulūgh al-Marām. When Imam al-Bukhari (r) decided to collect the most comprehensive and authentic narrations from the Prophet ﷺ, it was only logical that he dedicate a chapter to Qur’anic virtues. As is the unique methodology of Imam al-Bukhari (r), he penned this chapter in an attempt to weave together everything we need to know about the Qur’an from our Prophet ﷺ. This chapter includes how revelation would come down, virtues of particular Surahs, etiquette with the Qur’an, what sets the Qur’an apart from other speech, the expert reciters of the Qur’an from the companions, and how the angels respond to the recitation of the Qur’an. ​

Students will learn the origin of hadith and the history of this science.

The hadith of the Prophet ﷺ can manufacture a change within our hearts and in our lives. In these sessions, Shaykh Abdullah will cover a significant amount of Hadith from the primary works collected by scholars under the chapters of Riqaq, Heart Softeners.

Since Ramadan holds a special place in Islam, it is only logical that we have dozens of narrations from our Prophet ﷺ on the merits and virtues of Ramadan. Times like these tend to bring up assumptions pertaining to the nearness of the Day of Judgement and start debates about the manifestations of its signs. They tend to put the Ummah on edge and we often forget that the sunnah of the Prophet SAW was to stay optimistic even if we were to hear the tune of the trumpet. He encouraged us to continue to plant our crops while staying conscious of the final hour so that we can abstain from contributing to the evil of the last days. Many of the present circumstances have caused us to contemplate the realities of the final day and created questions that many do not know the answers to.
