Hujjatul Islam: Imam Ghazali

The Proof of Islam, Imam Abu Hamid Al Ghazali, was the mujadid (reviver) of the Fifth Century of Islam. During a time of great epistemological division between different factions within Islam, he found a way to bring many of those ideologies together. His magnum opus, the Revival of the Religious Sciences, is considered to be one of the most important books within Islamic scholarship. His name is quoted frequently, yet many of us do not know his life.

The Legends of Islam

The Legend Series is a four-session online course about the lives of the four great Imams of Fiqh: Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Ash-Shafi’i, and Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal taught by Sh. Abdullah Waheed & Imam Yousef Wahb. We’ll explore the personal lives of these great scholars, including their upbringing, their journeys as students of knowledge, their involvement with their communities, their challenges, and their engagement with the leaders of their times.We’ll discuss the principles that they build their schools of thought upon, and why their methodologies became the standard for engaging with our tradition.

The Secrets of Prayer

Would you like to have an insight into the secrets to prayer? Not just knowing the external dimensions of this pillar, but the inward reality, etiquettes, and spiritual reflections that allow change for our beings. This course is adapted from Imam Al-Ghazali's Revival of the Religious Sciences. Classes will be live and recorded inshallah.

The Life of Al Abbas RA

A wealthy merchant amongst the clansmen of Mecca, Al-Abbas played a significant role during the premature days of Islam. We are pleased to have Imam Yousef Wahb join us as he will illuminate the life of a hidden gem within the family of our beloved Prophet SAW and why he was given the title as the Protector of the Prophet SAW.

The Preserved Message

Many of us know the ways in which the Quran 📖 was preserved from the moment the Prophet ﷺ passed until now. But have we considered how the ✨ divine message was proliferated during the Prophet’s ﷺ life? Based on a Yaqeen article by Shaykh Yousef Wahb, this course will examine 🔎 the ways the Prophet ﷺ and his companions both orally disseminated and textually transcribed the Qur’an.

Imam Yusuf Wahb

Sh. Yousef Wahb is a graduate of Al-Azhar’s Faculty of Languages and Translation, where he studied Islamic Studies in the English Language. He has also acquired an Advanced Level of Qira’at (Quranic modes of Recitation) from Al-Azhar Institute. He has dedicated over 10 years as an imam and visiting lecturer at various Islamic Centres, mosques, schools, and youth camps. Previously, he headed the Academic Committee of Shaykh al-Amoud Foundation to educate youth in Egypt on the various branches of Islamic knowledge. Since 2014, he has been serving Windsor's Muslim community, initially as an Imam at the Rose City Islamic Centre and currently as the Imam of Youth, Education & Outreach at the Windsor Islamic Association.
